Egbert Rühl

Since 2010, Egbert Rühl has been managing director of the then newly founded Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, an urban GmbH promoting the Hamburg creative industry. In this position he is responsible for the practical support as well as the development of a Hamburg strategy for improving the framework conditions of the creative industries in the Hanseatic city.

Before Egbert Rühl set up Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, he worked throughout Germany in various management and creative positions in the cultural and creative industries. After freelance work as a production manager and assistant director at the Hessischer Rundfunk, he founded an office for cultural management in Frankfurt a.M. and subsequently became managing director of Kultur-Labor GmbH in Brandenburg / Havel. Between 2001 and 2010 he was first director, then sole director of the urban cultural center Alte Feuerwache Mannheim.

He finally moved from the Rhine-Neckar region to the north and to the Elbe in order to strategically promote the Hamburg creative industry and to establish networks between the various submarkets of the creative industries and with other actors from business, politics and society.
