Dr. Carsten Brosda
Dr Carsten Brosda is the Minister of Culture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Prior to this he was Hamburg’s State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, State Secretary for media and digitisation in the Senate Chancellery and the Senate’s authorised media representative.
In Berlin he previously worked as head of the SPD party executive’s communication department and deputy head of the management and planning staff at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
He studied journalism and political science at the University of Dortmund, completed a newspaper traineeship with the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung and gained his PhD on “discursive journalism”.
