Interdisciplinarity as a Driver for Early Stage Innovation
TOPIC Processes of boundary crossing, mutual learning and co-creation are necessary to harness grand socio-technical challenges and concrete problems that are located between disciplines. In these contexts, interdisciplinarity and the integration of different kinds of knowledge are often regarded as a key driver of innovation.
In this Breakout-Session Hannah Glatte from Center for Responsible Research and Innovation at Fraunhofer IAO Institute will give an insight on different models of innovation processes and will focus on a Fraunhofer research about the early stage of innovation development and the impact of interdisciplinarity in this innovation phase. The second part of the Session will be structured more interactively by working and focusing on challenges of managing interdisciplinary teams.
FORMAT In Breakout Sessions the conference participants will split into small groups of attendees to discuss specific subjects or aspects of the broad theme 'Cross Innovation'. The format offers the programme attendees an opportunity to discuss, reflect, or act upon the theme in a more intimate setting. The conference attendees will be free to choose out of five sesssios at a time which will take place in five different locations at the conference venue.
